Co-location/Shelter Home

Identified individuals are accommodated in existing shelter homes provided by the Municipal Corporation of the respective city or another designated government body. These shelter homes are used for rehabilitation purposes.

Mobilization

Following the survey, persons engaged in begging are relocated to co-location/shelter homes, where they are provided with basic services.

SMILE(Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise)

Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Persons Engaged in the act of Begging covers extensive welfare measures for persons who are engaged in the act of begging for their sustainable development.

Training and Skill Development

Vocational training and skill development is provided to individuals to enhance their employment opportunities through integration with existing welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments, offering them various livelihood options.

Survey/Identification

Surveys are conducted by State/UT Governments and other organizations to identify individuals engaged in begging in the following identified cities- Vijaywada, Namsai, Guwahati, Tezpur, Kevadia, Pavagarh, Gir Somnath, Shimla, Kangda, Kozhikode, Trivandrum, Mysore, Indore, Ujjain, khajuraho, Omkareshwar, Sanchi, Puducherry, Jaisalmer, Madurai, Ayodhya, Kushinagar, Warangal, Buddh Gaya, Srinagar, Trimbakeshwar, Panchkula, Cuttack.

Rehabilitation/Resettlement

Specific needs of each individual are identified to rehabilitate/resettle them. The services of shelter homes like facilitating education for children engaged in begging are used and necessary care offered to elderly, disabled, and sick individuals.
